Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium screws placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. Dental implants act like tooth roots and dental prostheses are placed on them.
Advantages Of Dental ımplants:
In single tooth deficiencies, the missing tooth is completed without any damage to the adjacent healthy teeth.
It is possible to use fixed prosthesis with implant applications instead of removable prosthesis in the absence of many teeth.
In edentulous cases, removable dentures are supported with a low number of implants to increase their retention in the mouth.
In appropriate cases, the patient’s implant is placed in a single operation by removing the tooth and making the implant at the same time.
Treatment Process:
Dental implants are performed painlessly under local anesthesia. After the operation, operation area is sutured and waited for one week. The application of ice and the use of painkillers given by the doctor prevent swelling and provide a comfortable post-operative period.
After the implant is applied, it is necessary to wait 3-4 months for the integration of the bone and the titanium screw. In cases where the bone is thin and bone greft materials are used or sinus augmentation is performed, the waiting period extend up to 6 months. The patient will use temporary prostheses during this time. After waiting for the required time, prosthesis stage will be started.
Who Can Get Dental Implants:
Implants can be safely applied to every patient whose systemic diseases such as diabetes and blood pressure are under control.
Patients who have undergone any heart surgery or use blood thinners can be implanted by consulting their doctor and making medication adjustments.
Dental implants made of titanium have a suitable structure with our body without having any allergic reaction.
