Prevention Methods From Tooth Decay
The chewing surfaces of the posterior teeth, especially the molars, contain thin slits and pits where food can easily be hold due to their anatomical structure. These materials can be transparent or opaque white in color, they do not cause any aesthetic problems. Fissure sealants, which can stay on the teeth for 10-15 years by sticking tightly, can protect the teeth from caries in the long term. Since it is a painless procedure, it is applied without anesthesia.
Fluoride gel is an application used to strengthen the smooth surfaces of the posterior teeth and the enamel of all anterior teeth against caries. Fluor gels are available as ready-made preparations and are placed in special spoons and applied to the mouth. It is applied twice a year to strengthen the tooth enamel against caries.
